They had Lewis Newton [b/d 1945 at Neodesha, Wilson, KS]. From the recollection of a neighbor, Kerry Elkins, in the Neodesha Derrick, 15 May 1997, p. 3:
Chuck & Edna lived behind our house at 145 Mill Street in Neodesha for many years with their house being on 2nd Street. As you know, they lost a child. While we were neighbors in the 1950s and 60s they would always have my youngest brother Rick Elkins come over to their house on Christmas Day and open presents they bought him. They were great people. They had a little cherry tree in the back yard and we climbed it so often we killed it.
