Descendants of Capt. Arthur Fenner

Lester Fenner

[b 5 Feb. 1898 at Clinton, DeWitt, IL; d 5 Nov. 1966 at Angola, Steuben, IN] When Lester Irwin Fenner registered for WWI on 12 Sept. 1918, he was living in Heyworth, Mclean Co., IL, employed on his father’s farm (same address). In 1920, Lester was single, counted at the U.S. Naval Training Station at Great Lakes, IL, on 10 Jan. 1920. He m Maude Pauline Black [b 1896/7 in IL or MO] after the 1920 census. In 1930, Lester was living in Detroit, MI, with Maude and Lester Jr. In 1940, Lester, Maude, and Lester Jr. were living in Pleasant Township, Steuben, IN.

Note: The census records of 1930 and 1940 show Maude to be two years older than Lester, born either in Illinois (1930) or Missouri (1940). Lester was buried next to Maude K. Fenner, 1900–1993, described as being from Indiana, maiden name Rinehart. This is probably a second wife, but the death of the first and marriage of the second is unclear.
