Jessamine Carol Fenner

 

[b 4 July 1895 in Almond, NY; d 18 Mar. 1965 at Rochester, NY] Jessamine was a graduate of Mt. Holyoke College (South Hadley, MA). She had a long career in the Y.W.C.A., beginning as a secretary in New York City. After World War I, she was on special assignment in Estonia and Latvia, between 1921 and 1924. In 1933, she published A Personnel Manual: The Personnel Function in Non-Technical Language for the Use of Y.W.C.A. Leaders (NY: The Woman's Press). In 1945, she worked with displaced persons in Germany at the conclusion of World War II. She served as the head of all personnel 1960. Unmarried. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Huntington, CT, and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, but she died in Rochester, NY.
