Alexander Wilson Fenner

[b 1 Jan. 1820 at Cranston, Providence, RI; d 12 Jan. 1885 at Manville, Providence, RI] Alexander’s father died when he was only four years old, and his mother opted to put the children under the guardianship of William Pitcher Olney, at least until 1832. From 1841 to 1844, he was employed as a clerk. On 24 Nov. 1845 in Providence, Alexander m Sarah M. Cragin [b 23 June 1819 at East Douglas, Worcester, MA; d 13 Apr. 1874]. She was the daughter of Benjamin Cragin and Azubah Hill. Around 1850, the family moved to Douglas, Massachusetts, then back to Providence around 1858 or 1859. Alexander served in the Civil War, a private in the 11th Infantry, Company D. His primary residence was 1538 Plainfield Pike, which is now 43 Stony Acre Dr. He and Sarah are both buried in the Grace Church Cemetery in Providence.
