James L. Fenner & Sarah Remington

 

[b 1760 at Providence, RI; d 14 Jan. 1799 in his 40th yr.] In Sept. of 1780, the Cranston Town Council adjudged James non compos mentis and Richard Sarle was appointed his guardian for business affairs. Between 1787 and 1799, James lived at 1538 Plainfield Road, Cranston, RI. James married Sarah Remington [b ca. 1766 at Johnston, RI; d Apr. 1849, age 83] in 1790. In 1801, about two years after James died, Sarah was appointed guardian of James’ children. James is buried in the Pocasset Cemetery in Cranston. By 1820, Sarah had moved to 43 Stony Acre Drive in Cranston. She m 2nd Job Sheldon [b ca. 1778; d 19 Feb. 1825, age 47].

1. Thomas [b 1791; d 6 Nov. 1824 in his 33rd yr.] m Mary Alice Olney.
2. Asahel [b ca. Jan. 1792; d 4 Oct. 1846] married twice.
3. Sarah [b ca. Apr. 1798; d 4 June 1800, age 2 yrs., 8 mos.].
4. Sarah A.; m Andrew Knight.
