Adelia Miranda Fenner

[b 11 May 1836 at Alfred, NY; d 12 July 1907 at Alfred, NY] Adelia Miranda Fenner painted, wrote poetry, and was spoken of as “queenly” in walking down the aisle of the Alfred church where she sang solos. She was a preceptress at Milton College. In 1869, she m Chauncey Burton Isham [b 21 Dec. 1841; d 21 Feb. 1901 at Canton, SD] of Stoughton, WI. He was a principal and superintendent in public schools, and she was a teacher for many years in Wisconsin, Kansas, Missouri, and South Dakota.
