William Jason Fenner

 

[b 6 June 1828 at Ripley, Chautauqua, NY; d 12 Dec. 1894 at Delaware, IA] On 31 March 1864, William Jason Fenner m Mercy Dianthy Wilson [b 2 Nov. 1845 in PA; d 24 Dec. 1920 at Pukwana, Brule Co., SD], daughter of Alva and Cordelia Wilson, in Delaware, Iowa. Mercy had moved with her family to Jefferson, Ashtabula Co., OH, in 1847 or 1848, then to Iowa in 1852. William moved to Iowa some time after the 1855 NY census. William died of typhoid pneumonia in 1894; Mercy caught it too but survived. Mercy and Heber were living with Cora’s husband and children in South Fork Township, Delaware, IA, in 1900. Mercy moved to Pukwana, South Dakota, in 1901, and died there in 1920. At Mercy’s death, there were 10 great grandchildren, 11 grandchildren, and one living son (Heber). William Fenner was buried in a cemetery about two or three miles north of Manchester, Iowa, known as Meade Cemetery. His wife and some of the family are also buried there.

  6. Heber William [b 21 Sept. 1884 at Hopkinton, Delaware Co., IA; d 1 July 1955 at Corpus Christi, Nueces Co., TX] m Leo Elizabeth Northrop, daughter of Edwin Northrop and Rosa Beatley, on 13 Mar. 1911 in Onawa, Monona Co., IA.
