To all whom it may concern. It is hereby certified that James M. Fenner, the deceased husband of Emily Fenner who now remains his widow and has applied for Pension M152610. I was called on a few days after James M. Fenner was discharged from the U.S. Service and found him with the fever and ague or intermittent fever and his system was in a very deranged condition and I thought the disease was caused by lying on the damp ground while in the service and I administered medicine to eradicate the disease from his system, but the longest he was clear of the chills and fevers from the time he was discharged, was 21 days but general had the chills about every 7 days from the time he was discharged until he died. His disease ran into the congestive chills which caused his death and further, I have no interest in this matter, whatsoever.
