Samuel Westcott Fenner

[b ca. 1770 at Johnston, RI] Samuel Wescott Fenner was named after his mother’s first husband. He m 1st Sally Burton of Cranston, RI, on 6 Oct. 1805 by Benjamin Whipple, Justice. He m 2nd Thankful Kimball [b 19 Sept. 1789; d 30 Oct. 1870] on 6 Oct. 1811. Thankful was the daughter of Jarvis Kimball of Scituate, RI.

  1. Rodman Westcott [b 4 June 1812; d aft 1867].

  2. Dean Kimball [b 15 Sept. 1813; d 10 Feb. 1870], married twice.

  3. Sally [b 26 Nov. 1815; d 1883] m Susan Aldrich [b 1817; d 25 Oct. 1843].

  4. Channing Gibbs [b 5 June 1818; d 1883].

  5. Julia Ann [b 23 Feb. 1820; d 1846].

  6. Harriet A. [b 13 July 1826; d 1869] m — Kellar, had Pauline.

  7. James Dexter [b 9 Dec. 1832; d 20 Sept. 1901] m Mary Biddle, had Flora.

Sources:
1. No source shows both wives. Sally comes from Martha Benns, Rick Buckingham, and Cafferty. Thankful is from Eva Fenner’s orginal manuscript. The dates seem to suggest Samuel married Sally first, and when Sally died (we assume), he married Thankful Kimball and had Dean Kimball Fenner.
