Samuel Fenner

 

[b 25 Oct. 1736; d 1811] Samuel Fenner m Amey Fiske [b ca. 1735; d 22 Mar. 1823 in Cranston in her 89th yr.] on 6 Sept. 1764 at Cranston, RI. Amey was the daughter of Phindras Fiske. Samuel's will was dated 28 Sept. 1811.

  1. Samuel [b 23 Mar. 1765 in Cranston, RI; d Dec. 1846, age 81]. “He was one of the three siblings who last lived in the Fenner Castle until his sister died and the Castle was abandoned until torn down. Sam was an odd duck who vowed a life of celibacy and never wore shoes in the summer. In addition, Samuel set up a little shop near the Castle and there operated a small man-powered lathe, turning out pounders for the women in the community to use in their pounding barrels on washing day.”[3]

  2. Mary Abbott [b 13 Nov. 1766; d 16 Sept. 1861, age 94] nicknamed “Polly.” Unmarried.

  3. Freelove Fiske [b 31 Jan. 1770; d 6 Oct. 1849] m Samuel Joy [b 1764; d 7 June 1842].

  4. Benjamin [b 1 Jan. 1774; d 6 July 1855 in his 82nd yr.]. Unmarried.
