Hezekiah C. Fenner was born in Rhode Island May 2nd, 1813, departed this life May 28, 1911, aged 98 years and 26 days. When but five years of age, with his father, mother and two sisters, he came to Ohio, his parents settling within five miles of his present home, where he spent almost his entire life. On November 22, 1838, he was united in marriage to Lucinda Kimball. To this union was born ten children, six of whom with the mother preceded him the better land, leaving two sons and two daughters. Mother Fenner died January 27, 1881. On February 14th, 1884, he was married to Mrs. Mary Chester who with two daughters by a previous marriage survive.

During the winter of 1882, father Fenner joined the Methodist Episcopal Church at Lewis Chapel. During these many years he has had a firm belief in the power above and no fear of the end. To him has come the close of the journey, the parting of the way and as a sheaf of wheat garnered in the storehouses, so has his spirit been gathered to his maker, there to join loved ones gone before, what seems to us our loss is his eternal gain. Peace, eternal peace, be his.

His funeral was conducted at his late home in Irwin by Rev. W.B. Warren, Pastor of the M.E. church, May 30th, at 2 p.m. Interment in Milford Center Cemetery.
